Upload Feedback Thread - post here if your uploads keep getting deleted

Posted under General

Hi! I'm new to the site and I want to upload some of my drawings here. I tried with one that's relativelt harmless, but being new here, I could use some tips to upload them without them getting erased.

Could I get some assistance on that or am I in the wrong part of the forum? Thanks in advance!

post #4554412 got deleted three times by now (Uploadad and 2 appeals) and a parent version I uploaded got approved without problems, so I'm wondering if someone can tell me if something is wrong with it or just went under the radar. Thanks in advance!

Don't be so disappointed. If I were the approver, both would have been rejected. I mean, in the end, did this picture satisfy the taste and criteria of the approver at the time? The previous picture did it, but not this time.

Not the answer i expected, to be honest...would you explain to me why would both been rejected? There's is not an objective criteria in the page? Also, why do you think i'm "so disappointed"? I only asked out of pure curiosity, I've seen way worse arts got it's way into the page, if it's good, why wouldn't it get approved? you left me with more questions than i had before, so I would be glad if you could tell me your point of view, thanks for answering!

Also, Why the one I posted suddenly got flagged when it got approved months ago? (Didn't meet the quality standards of the page, so this is answered now)

Non-approvers shouldn't try to give advice in this thread, otherwise users end up even more confused than before, as was the case here.

There's a nature of subjectivity in all approvals, that's just how it is for art. We have a large number of approvers so that even though everyone has their own subjective taste, in the end it all evens out to a net that should catch all posts that are of acceptable quality.
In regards to the posts you linked, the feet are very in-your-face and it's hard not to notice how bad the legs look. It's like the lower body is detached from the upper body, even accounting for perspective.

Thanks for answering, Admin. To be honest I did not expect to get to this point, to even have my own approved post flagged and surely get deleted out of nowhere. If you think it's what the page needs in order to maintain the quality, I can't say otherwise. Thanks for your work all over the years and the fast answers, been on the page for long years till i registered and tried to make my own contributions, but now I know how it works, thanks!

Uploading is a trial and error process. Don't get scared if your first few uploads aren't approved, it's like that for everyone. It's easy to get a grasp of what's acceptable quality once you get going.

I may take flak for this, but honestly I'm not seeing anything terribly and irredeemably wrong with post #4554412. Feel free to re-flag if anyone feels super strongly, but this just looks like another case of extreme foreshortening rubbing people the wrong way. As an uploader, do know that that tends to happen and that it's hard for an artist to produce something that looks like perfect anatomy to people when drawing with extreme foreshortening, especially with hands or legs very close to the "camera" or very far away. Limbs more or less parallel with the direction of the shot (and therefore appearing much shorter than they otherwise would be is also a thing that rubs people the wrong way). Lastly for this one I've noticed that oily, rubbery, overly reflective textured skin sometimes also takes a hit in some people's boat.

I don't see this as so bad it needs to be deleted, so I've gone back and approved it (again subject to no one flagging it again), but know that as evidence has shown here, this is a post that most approvers won't approve, so it'd be smart to be cautious with similar posts in the future. I know sometimes people ask for feedback in the discord for opinions prior to uploading as a user that goes through the mod queue, and doing so might be smart for possibly contentious posts if that's an option for you in the future.

What is the issue with those 4 siblings of post #4794812 ? They all look normal, they are different, they are good, they have notorious changes. So why? I have seen worse situations where the only change is basically a tiny stain and yet they got approved. I uploaded and appealed to them and nothing. Some even have a positive score and favourite.

First: If you appeal any image right after it got deleted, only the approvers who didn't see the image before, will see the upload. Disapprovals get removed after one month, so you should wait one month before appealing.
Second: Favs and score have no impact on if an image is approved. Even very bad or prohibited uploads do get a high score - it's all about the image quality.
Third: While the first image of that batch is fine as it is, the other images get kinda ruined by the frame. The frame looks different that the original style and looks like a poor addition to a fine image that wasn't needed. Without the frame, it would surely get approved.
