A fictional mecha from the Gundam franchise.
RX-93 Nu Gundam
The lead Gundam featured in the anime film Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack.
The RX-93 Nu Gundam was one of the most advanced mobile suits of its time in U.C. 0093, together with Char Aznable's MSN-04 Sazabi. Both mobile suits are equipped with the revolutionary Psycho Frame technology.
The Nu Gundam's design is very unique as it doesn't follow the RX-78-2 Gundam's signature color scheme unlike its predecessors, the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam and MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam and sports a white, black (or midnight blue) and yellow color scheme instead, has a mouthpiece with three vents as opposed to the standard two vents, is equipped with a pair of different beam sabers with different mounting places (the larger beam saber is mounted on the backpack, near and behind the right shoulder and the smaller one is mounted on the left forearm) and also the first lead Gundam to be equipped with remote weapons called the Fin Funnels, which gives it its asymmetrical design when the funnels are docked.
It is piloted and designed in-universe by Amuro Ray. In real life, it is designed by Izubuchi Yutaka. In 2021, a life size replica of the Nu Gundam was announced for a Spring 2022 opening in Fukuoka. This version of the suit features an altered design and is referred to as the RX-93FF Nu Gundam.
