いつしか日は沈み、夜空に星が躍る。バモラ君から聞いたとうり 夜の町はとても明るい。
とうにカレーを食べているはずの思惑は狂い、空腹が不安を一層 煽る…一行は焦った。
みんなで話し合い 町に着く少し前の雑木林に木の実が生っていたのを覚えていたので
一旦そこまで戻り 夜を明かすことに決めた。

「みんなに こんな きけんなことをさせたのに」
「ぼくは たべられなくたって よかったのに」
「いつ しんでしまうかわからない ヘンナノちゃんに せかいいちおいしいたべものを
　たべさせてあげたかったのに」

唐突に嗚咽するボロ君 兄弟たちは優しく寄り添う。
メッソンは「泣く」事の深い理解者だ。ボロ君が今 流している涙が いつものような
驚きや恐怖から発せられているものではない事など すぐにわかる。

夢は夢のまま…けれども 偽りのない心で、めいっぱい考え、全力で行動したのだ。

ヘンナノちゃんがボロ君に声をかけた
「あたち いつもよるになると おそらがキラキラひかってて いってみたいなぁ…って
おもってたの！でも まちって もっとキラキラしてて とってもキレイ
　ボロくん つれてきてくれて ありがとう！」

All too soon, the sun went down and the stars started to come out.
Just like Scorch said, bright lights lit up the city at night.
At this rate, the Sobble and their friends wouldn't get to eat anything at all, let alone curry.
They met back up with the others and talked about what to do next.
Some of them remembered seeing berries growing in the forest down the road.
They decided to backtrack a little and spend the night there.

"I'm sorry... This is all my fault. I put you all in danger.
I don't deserve to eat anything.
I just... I just wanted to give Snowy the yummiest food in the world...before she died..."

All of Raggedy's feelings came bursting out at once.
His brothers and sisters gathered around to comfort him.
Sobble know a lot about crying. They could tell these weren't regular tears of fear or surprise.

Maybe your dream won't come true, but you still did everything you could for the sake of your friend.
You did your best.

Then Snowy spoke up. "You know... I always think it's so pretty when the stars are shining in the sky.
I look up at them and I think, I wish I could see them up close.
But the city is even brighter, even shinier, even more pretty.
