Deletion request thread

The auto-deletion is probably bugged.

I don't see a "pending approval" on post #889578, so just in case, I'm gonna put it here on account of deletion not currently working.

This needs to be nuked from orbit. Like, yesterday.

Does flagging a mod queued post remove the 3-day auto deletion or something?

Yes it does so now that post will sit indefinitely or until a mod decides to manually delete.

In that case it needs to be killed, pronto. It never would've survived past the mod queue if not for an overzealous flagging.

Might be a good idea to tell people not to flag queued images in the flagging page, too.

I still don't understand why it doesn't delete flagged posts. I thought we've agreed it was a bad idea and albert said he'd change it back.

I think the only flagged posts that aren't getting deleted are the ones that were flagged during the period when automatic deletions were disabled. They're probably just in a bad state or something.

I'd also wager that we could go-ahead and manually delete the posts we know were flagged more than three days ago. Although I would hold-off on that, since we can't give reasons when deleting posts anymore.

Looks like I was wrong about not being able to specify a deletion reason - it only applies to the posts which are in a bad state.

I would like to preemptively apologize for flagging three images for duplicate. When I saw two of the images were already uploaded, I hurried to flag them before reading that particular part of the flagging page. This was an all-around screw-up on my part.

Well then, if some posts are stuck in a weird state of not being auto-deleted, then this is one of them. Almost three weeks now, so it should probably get wiped.

I don't think flagged posts are being auto-deleted at all.

Do not request pending posts to be deleted. Wait for it to die in the queue.

Both are legitimate. It's pretty common for artists to upload stand-alone images and then make them into wallpapers, sometimes but not always in higher quality. This would fall under the "we don't delete duplicates" rule, sort of.

It's different from, say, someone uploading a pixiv thumbnail version.

Anyway, deleted all the narutoxxx ones. Though I'm not so sure that post #482256 and post #22084 actually have third-party watermarks; the artist's comments in those posts' source URLs strongly indicates they aren't plagiarized.
