What is wrong with this image? Only thing I can think of is that the approvers didn't like the art style.

Only thing I can think of is maybe approvers didn't like her face.

An approver told me they think the proportions on her face and body are too wonky, but I think it's just the angle.

I kinda have a feeling this would have been approved if it was bigger, but as far as I could find, this is the largest version to exist.

I'm still learning the ropes of posting pictures here, so here I go.

I'm having trouble seeing what's wrong with this picture, especially since a related picture by the same artist was approved earlier (post #3195355). The only thing I can probably see is the dialogue looking a bit weird with how it overlaps everything else.

Updated

I'm not sure if it's bad luck, the mods not liking the art style, or me just not understanding why some posts don't get approved.

These are part of a series in which two of the posts got approved. Not sure if the same mods looked at the entire series. Maybe the angles are a bit off?

Maybe the shading's not good enough?

The only thing I can think of is there being a bit too much of a contrast between dark and light.

The colors might be a bit too saturated, though I personally don't think it detracts too much from the overall quality.

And now to take a crack at a few that aren't mine:

Maybe there's not enough detail in the picture? I'm not too sure, though it looks too cute to pass up!

It's kinda tricky to make out her right hand, and the fingers looks a bit "blocky," but that's about it imo. It's a bummer this was deleted, because the rest of the image looks soooo good!

The poster didn't give a source. If that got fixed, I think this would make a good child, mainly because it appears to be at a higher res.

The artist’s style, especially the shading, is kind of hit or miss. These two have rather wonky faces that might have tipped the scales towards rejection. In the second post, the space between the face and the left of the hood makes the face look really strange.

I guess nobody liked Kirby enough.

Not much detail, shading’s not too great, hands and faces are kind of meh.

If the right arm is supposed to be across her stomach, the elbow should be further to the front. She looks like an amputee like this. The arm’s also kind of thin and looks too short, definitely shorter than the left arm. The left arm not only has blocky fingers but also looks more like a tube with no discernible wrist. IMO, the rest of the image isn’t good enough to make up for those flaws.

The poster didn’t give a source because it’s a self-made GIF conversion (and upscale) of the parent ugoira. We don’t want third-party conversions. The original version is quite fine (and already uploaded).

I was 110% sure this was gonna get approved...

The character’s not too bad and the strangely disproportionate legs (thick thighs and too thin lower legs, part of her hip clipping into the armrest) and somewhat inconsistent shadows might be forgiven if the rest of the image wouldn’t look like total garbage in comparison: only a gray gradient and a zero-effort couch. Even no background at all would’ve been better than that.

Looks good to me. The style is a bit dated, but that shouldn't be an issue. Definitely would've approved this.

Again, this one looks fine. I think she's supposed to be sitting on the glass thing, but there's some issues with depth and background. I might have approved this one.

Shading doesn't support a light source here. Some sketchy lines coming off of her hair don't play well with the rest of the image. Probably would've passed this one over.

Firstly, the art style isn’t one that’s particularly appreciated on this site.

Secondly, you apparently didn’t read the Uploading Guidelines:

Uploading One's Own Art is Sacrilege

Posting one's own art is severely frowned upon, and there are two reasons behind this:

  • Firstly, artists tend to be biased when it comes to judging the quality of their own work. What looks good to you may be regarded as mediocre to Danbooru moderators.
  • Secondly, allowing posting of own work (self-posting) will cause a sudden spike of sub-par uploads as users mistake us for another Pixiv or Deviantart, far beyond the scope and capacity of Danbooru.

More suitable sites to upload your own art to include Deviantart and Pixiv.

Admins and moderators are especially harsh on self-posting artists, lashing out penalties without remorse. The one and only way to feature your art on Danbooru is to show immense talent and skill elsewhere, and with that, captivate some fans on the other side of the Internet into uploading your art.

First and foremost, this is a self-upload. Self-uploads are held to an even higher standard than normal ones. Secondly, the style is fairly western/not terribly anime-inspired which is another category that bumps the standard required to a higher level.\
Now to the technical - The rough and fuzzy shading is a style choice that has fans, but also a lot of approvers probably prefer a clean style. Her hand looks a bit weird to me. The face also approaches the uncanny valley (don't think it's quite there, but I know some people who would be put off).
The image isn't bad, it's just not enough to compensate for the two categories which necessitate a higher standard of scrutiny.
