Yellow Turban
One of the yellow scarves worn as turbans by disciples of the Way of the Taiping. There are numerous explanations as to why this color was chosen, with the Five Elements theory claiming that it was a sign of faith in the Yellow Emperor. Regardless of the color's origins, we do know that those who chose to stand up to the Han Dynasty while wearing one of these scarves did so because they believed it would lead to a brighter future.
"Hoohoho. True, I doubt many people who wore these scarves truly understood everything about the Way of the Taiping. But, even so...there was a sense of unity in seeing everyone wearing the same color. Of course I remember the droves of people who stood together, all with these yellow scarves wrapped around their heads. I remember how they listened closely to what I said, their eyes glittering bright. Yes... Thinking back on it now, perhaps that very sight is what we all truly sought. Seeing all those Yellow Turbans covering the land everywhere you look was like seeing the most bountiful rice harvest you could imagine coming to life..."
Yes, this was the color that bound Zhang Jue and the people who looked up to him. A mark of their lives that he can still see clearly whenever he closes his eyes.
