彼女はそう言って笑った。
どういう意味だろう。

宝具のことを言っているのだと分かったのは、
少し後のことだった。
神剣・草那芸之大刀。
彼女の大本にまつわる大宝具、日本神話に語られる
大いなる災害竜・八岐大蛇の尾から出たという剣。
その剣には多くの名前があるという話だ。
草那芸剣、天叢雲剣、そして、都牟刈の太刀。

ふと思う。
宝具としてのその剣は、もしかして―――

――――――名前の数だけ存在する、とか？

彼女の言葉の真意、
今はまだ分からないけれど。
いつか、知る時が来るのかもしれない。

What could she have possibly meant?
It wasn't until later that you realize she was talking about her Noble Phantasm. The Sword of Gods, Kusanagi-no-Tachi, the great Noble Phantasm associated with her origin...the sword said to have come from great dragon of calamity, Yamata-no-Orochi mentioned in Japanese mythology. The sword actually has many names: Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi, Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsuguri, Tsumugari-no-Tachi, and no shortage of others.

Then it dawns on you: Could there be as many versions of this sword as there are names for it?
