Danbooru 2 Issues Topic

Here's what I do. If I think it's crap, I tell them to stop and upload somewhere else. If I think it's good enough, I'll let them keep going but they still have to upload somewhere else just so it serves as an outside source for their Danbooru uploads.

Since Apollyon started to tell people to upload their own work somewhere else, I think it's only fair to tell this to everyone. Quality can't matter here since in the feedback Apollyon gave, this was not a topic.
But is that really the correct topic? Shouldn't these three posts (with mine) no transferred in the right topic or a new one?

I wondered that myself; But there is no general question thread I know of, and starting a new topic for something so small felt wrong. Whatever's best though.

I know the majority of people who upload their own works here are shit but there are some that are worth looking over. Besides, it's not like there are users with Unrestricted Uploads permissions that self-upload here.

To be honest: "Frowned upon" is pretty vague. When it has bad quality, then ok.
But my problem here is the feedbacks Apollyon gave. And no, not the one to the uploaders here, but to Nitrogen09. Apollyon said: Enforcing site rules here. I've quite some problems to detect here the clear red line because this way it's clearly: Absolute inadmissibilty^^.

Well, in the user(s) in question were user #385292, followed by user #464500. Both of whom only located images by artist zeshgolden. The second user is even NAMED zeshgolden. And yeah, the quality isn't exactly great.

If some users like an artist's work, they will post it on this site. Considering that most of self-uploading artist's artworks are of crappy quality anyway, allowing them to upload their own art themself would cause as much trouble as it probably will.

Uh... The rule has been on the wiki for howto:upload since 2009-04-09, when it was added by Kayako as Uploading your own art is looked down upon - it's currently titled "Uploading One's Own Art is Sacrilege"....

I don't read "Is forbidden" like Apollyon's feedbacks would suggest.

He doesn't said that self-uploading "is forbidden", but rather "not advised". And all the warnings lately were only given to artists posting sub-par works.

But shouldn't this warning then given to all self-uploader, no matter the quality (that was my point from the beginning).
Since Apollyon started this not too long ago, I hope it is this way and there were indeed no good uploader that received that kind of feedback.

Calling @Apollyon for his opinion then.

It would be better to start a new topic, this is kept for technical questions and issues for albert to see quickly. Would move the discussion to other topic, but it looks like there's no forum splitting functional available, merging only.

This has been refreshing itself every couple of seconds for more than 10 minutes now. Do I just leave it in the hope that it will successfully upload or should I try to upload it again or what?

Upload it again, it's not uncommon for it to happen.

I repeatedly getting Failboorus (it works after 10 tries but that is not so good (isn't the only upload I have problems with)).

I'm retrying 3 times just for 1 post. All of them stuck in processing. This won't become duplicates, right?
