Unapproved images

Well I was mostly responding about reuploading deleted images, not posting multiple ones. Forgot about jpeg decreasing(though to be honest I have never noticed one more save making any visable difference).

Tolone, it's just the principle of the thing. Danbooru's purpose is to catalogue images, and if you just go creating more and more of them, things get really confusing. You've probably seen plenty of posts which have 5 or more children, all of exactly the same resolution, but different filesizes, right? That's something we want to avoid.

piespy, if I recall correctly, yes, if you are the original uploader. But what if you're not? Privileged users don't have the capability to purge deleted images, but they should have the right to reupload them, in my opinion.

I don't want people to upload the same image over and over, just a priviledged users being able to upload a deleted image.

Uh, you're not getting my point. When you re-save an image, even if it looks exactly the same, it is a different file. A computer cannot instantly recognize that it is the same image, only a human eye (or, with less reliability, some probabilisitic Haar wavelet techniques! :P ) can. And that makes automation of various stuff much much more difficult.

This would be the correct solution, though I'm not sure what level of membership is required to do it, since it's not a documented feature.
