Based on that thread it sounds like deprecation for baby_animal is the best call. Also cub is unfortunately still filled with lolisho, but I don't know what rename could be given that would call to mind fox and bear cubs but not be filled with underage furry porn.

I think it's probably better to tag things with the actual type of animal it is — bear cub, wolf cub, fox cub, tiger cub, chick, puppy, kitten, fawn, lamb, calf, etc — than to dump a bunch of dissimilar animals under one tag.
