BUR #34826 has been approved by @evazion.
deprecate baby_animal
Based on that thread it sounds like deprecation for baby_animal is the best call. Also cub is unfortunately still filled with lolisho, but I don't know what rename could be given that would call to mind fox and bear cubs but not be filled with underage furry porn.

undeprecate baby_animal
please reconsider this stance
lack of homogenity between different species has been cited. however this is also the case for the broadest tag, animal (seahorse, wasp, frog, bat all look nothing alike), and for one of the suggested alternative, cub (compare post #105104, post #8586531, post #6333567).
many animals got their own tags for their younger versions, most of them severely underpopulated - tiger cub, lion cub, fox cub, wolf cub, seal cub (more commonly called "seal pups" in real life), bear cub, panda cub, baby penguin, duckling (both supposedly subsets of "chick"), kitten, puppy, calf (animal) (the term is also used for other animals, such as dolphins and elephants), fawn, lamb, and so on. however, at the same time, many have not. this leads to fragmentation of a single, unified concept
