Upload Feedback Thread - post here if your uploads keep getting deleted

It means that if you're going to upload your own work to a website specifically dedicated to cataloging, retaining, and judging high-quality anime art that is historically known for being tough in the queue, you better be uploading your absolute best work.

Danbooru is not DeviantArt, Twitter, or Pixiv. If you're going to post your own work, keep in mind that only about 20% of self uploads pass muster. The reasons for this are described in help:upload. Take a dip into self_upload status:deleted and you'll understand our stance better.

And what exactly is poor quality about that image?

You, unfortunately, got 1upped. The twitter version has a noticeably lower filesize and visibly compressed compared to the pixiv version. Someone uploaded the pixiv version an hour after you uploaded the twitter version, making it look like you uploaded a lower quality version.

It's unfortunate that this happens, but there are things in the works to reduce the impact of such things.

Is it possible to appeal for such things? I know for a fact when I uploaded, the pixiv version wasn't available yet.
That, or just plain get rid of my unapproved upload from my account altogether, it kinda looks ugly considering the fact this artist has many posts where the parent is pixiv and the child is Twitter, and yet mine is the one that's deleted.

Where did I go wrong?

They're all very rough and flat. Be careful of colored sketches and the like. They're just not particularly good even if you think they're cute.

So I'm almost two pages of stuff getting deleted. I understand a few images that may not get approved, but a few I think would be approved. Especially these three:

https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/5420575?q=user%3AILikeBuffGirls123+status%3Adeleted
https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/5389530?q=user%3AILikeBuffGirls123+status%3Adeleted

And this one even got a few comments, even if it's not highly upvoted: https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/5406858?q=user%3AILikeBuffGirls123+status%3Adeleted

Thanks again, y'all.

Well, you're at 21 deleted images, which is barely two pages. No need to be dramatic.

The three that you linked simply don't have particularly good anatomy, especially the third one. The first one has shading issues. Anatomy issues seem to be a running theme in your deleted images. The muscles aren't always the problem - though some of them are kinda "inflated muscle suit"-ish - but there's a lot of questionable waistlines and just generally poor proportioning even without the muscles.

Either way, you now have less deletions than when you posted here.

You can appeal any deleted image once, though this one isn't likely to pass for the exact same reason as it failed it the first time.

It's a sticky situation that we know that behind the scenes Evazion is working on a solution. You're far from the only person to have this happen to them.

Jolyne herself is well drawn. But in my opinion, the blurry dude taking up half of the image ruins it, which is why I only approved the solo pic.

You know what, that's a fair assessment, I'll accept it. Thank you.

Hi,
I considered one of these might be turned away, like the third one, but not all of them. I was trying to get more of Urushihara's work on Danbooru, so it's discouraging. (If I were to hazard a guess as to why they were deleted, it's not there's anything specifically wrong with them, just that composition-wise they didn't stand out.)

They all have strange and large heads. A lot of them feel weirdly uncanny, as if they're headshops or two different artists did the head and body. Like I'm looking at an animegao kigurumi.

That feeling carries into the details, as well. Oddly detailed areola, questionable necks, etc.

I might accept the first critique. Perhaps the artist is weaker at drawing younger girls. But the detailed areola is common to all of his work. I don't think it should be considered an issue when his other work also has detailed nipples and there's 50+ pages of it here. I understand not everyone is into his style, but I stand firm that such images would historically have been accepted here.
Thanks for the clarification, in any case.

Not sure why that one was denied.

Explicit stuff is always less likely to get approved. The guy doing her from behind has some odd proportions and her torso looks a bit too "arched" if that makes sense.

There is the somewhat problematic distinction between images that has been approved and images that where posted by someone with unlimited privileges. Most of the more recent posts seems to be from Builders with the latter.

Historically in this artists case goes back to the start of Danbooru when standards where non existent. Standards has definitely gone up, even looking at the last five years. I wouldnt say his stuff is universally not welcome any more, it takes just one or two approver that likes his style to "turn the tides" so to speak.

My posts seems to be ignored mostly even though I only post quality art. It frustrates me having to appeal it mostly to be noticed and it really cuts my upload limit, its sad that this happens when I often see bad quality posts and mine that are good quality gets rejected. I only want to achieve a higher membership but I don't think I can make it to builder.
