Change log for Danbooru 1.17.0

Posted under General

Would it be possible for 2 separate vote counts? One for privileged only and one for general users? I ask because for all people saying scores don't matter(especially the sheep downvoting thats been going on lately), searching giant tags like bleach by vote was extremely useful.

Searching by vote now will be borderline useless for a while since it will take a long time for a decent amount of posts to have scores(since mostly new posts will have high scores). If there was 2 counts eventually people will go by the privileged for more quality, but would have the general user count as a backup. Someone trying to find a decent code geass image now...

I realize though that this might be a way for you to get more people to pay money which I can't fault, but just wanted to put that out there.

Absurdly better. I always found them mostly useless before, but the quality just jumped a lot. I still have some reservations about all this, but this is one plus advantage I'll happily admit to.

I don't think the score disparity between old and new posts is too big an issue - that kind of thing has always existed for various reasons. People might remember back in the past when things could become highest rated post of the day with scores of 15-20.

The good content will find it's way to the top again with time and honestly, I can't think of many examples off the top of my head where very highly rated posts didn't have an equally high rate of being favourite'd anyway.

As long as the mods don't judge a user based on scores I suppose it's fine. A bit surprising seeing my highest rated image go from eighty something to... nine. (oh god revelation that my images suck)

Just sending a big thanks to Albert for bringing back favorite tags. It's the one thing I missed the most. Having the option to calculate it is a great move to save on bandwidth or whatever it was that it used to bog down.

With privileged and above only contributing to score, I guess I'll should go back and do a lot of pruning on my favorites now.

Could do order:favcount to see those "popular" posts.

EDIT: I'd like to see a "upload tags" where you can see what your most common upload is.

- Tag auto-complete is now enabled on post/upload and post/show. You can disable it by going to your user settings. The list is based on your favorite tags and recent tags listing.
- As a side effect of the above hitting return in the tag box will no longer submit the form. However on most browsers you can hit CTRL+S to submit it.

1. Is there really no way to have Enter submit when no completion is in progress?

2. It seems that My Tags and Recent Tags got merged together, making both useless. It's incredibly annoying when doing daily cleanups which mostly consist of a couple of tags I apply all the time.

Okay, I tested it a bit, and the whole thing is pretty useless as it stands now. The autocompletion buys me nothing; I already had all the tags in My Tags (with the benefit of spatial memory I don't get in autocompletion), and it ain't gonna help me none with lengthy tags I rarely use, or ones I'm not sure the exact name of.

If it's to be of any use, can we have something like an additional Extra Tags list, where we could put those less frequently used tags? This way My Tags still retains compactness and familiar layout, but autocompletion would get some material to work with that isn't an exact duplicate of is already available in a superior form. That I could certainly put to good use.

I haven't really had a chance to try it out much, but I appreciate the autocomplete. It's one of the features from the Firefox extension that I miss very much. A small improvement to it would be to color code tags based on type, as the extension did.

There's only a little thing I noticed... favoriting a post raises the score by 1, and then removing the same post from favorites lowers the score by 2. Is this a normal behaviour?

I'm pretty sure it is. I recall cleaning up my favorites once and removing a perfectly fine post, only to have it go to -1, which made me feel bad.

It has very little in common with the danbooruup autocompletion. It doesn't work with all tags, only the ones in your My Tags and Recent Tags lists.

It doesn't mean it's normal. It should be considered, for all intents and purposes, a bug.

Not sure if this falls under the same "bug" or is another bug (as I can't see it being something done by design) that after I uploaded a new image and then subsequently re-checked my post to add more tags the score went down by -1 each time I looked at the page.

In doing a simple mouseover I've noticed that particular image score's gone up by 1 to -1, but is still awaiting moderator approval. Is broswing back to your post before approval supposed to lower the score or is that just a unforseen side effect of the new changes?

Oh man, you shouldn't even ask such questions. Of course it isn't supposed to do that. Please open a trac ticket for incorrectly-triggered downvotes and describe exactly what you see there, we can later add to it the rest of the bugs reported here.

While I'll still stick with danbooruup, autocomplete on the upload page would be a huge plus for me. It's not quite enough to make me dump danbooruup and upgrade to FF3, but it's a good change.

I still miss being able to hit enter though. I have to get used to tab-entering again. Which you'd think I would be, since I use it for everything else in the universe.
