Because I tested it out after seeing my additions to post #1757816 . I used post #1881109 and typed the tags "megurine luka (vocaloid4)" - I forgot to underscore so I undid the edit- which is why it's not in history. But anyway, the individually the letters were green as a result. Including the qualifier which should of had no color.

I tested it by adding megurine, luka, and (vocaloid4) to a post with the Edit mode but none of them became character tags. megurine and (vocaloid4) are the default of general tags, luka is an artist tag. Creating a new tag also does not cause it to become a character tag - it defaults to general as normal. Tested on both post #1881109 and post #1. Can't reproduce, you must be doing something else to cause it to happen.

I've been having a slight issue regarding page loading speed. Whenever I load an image's page, the page will get to 100% loaded and then freeze for half a second. This happens both when opening an image in a new tab or when using slideshow mode to navigate.

I don't remember exactly when it started happening. I feel like I remember it not happening 2 months ago, so it seems to have started recently.

Some things I've tried:

Disabling all greasemonkey plugins.
Disabling noscript, even though I already gave all the scripts here permission.
Disabling adblock plus, even though there aren't ads anyways.
Turning off javascript resizing in my profile options.

Other info: Using firefox. I just tested in Chrome and it does not appear to have this issue, but Firefox is still my browser of choice. (though I wasn't logged in, so I don't know if that made a difference)

Is it possible to expand keyboard shortcuts?

Would like one for voting up/down.

Also, and this may not be possible... is there a way to set up a key that automatically shows the text for the first note at the top, and then cycles through the notes from top to bottom as you press the key? (kinda like how flash did with a yellow square on buttons) This would be amazing if you could get it implemented.

I just got a G600 and I'm already speeding up my web browsing by like 20%. Map all the shortcuts!

I've thought of that many times. The main problem would be determining the proper note order - those aren't always simply top-to-bottom, but jump all over the picture within frames, which are often also uneven.

It's common for two notes to be supposed to be located at the same height, but because of simple human error one is randomly higher or lower than the other. Take the first two notes in post #1189088 - you're supposed to read them right to left, but the left one is a couple pixels higher, so a shortcut that goes through them top to bottom would read the left one first.

And even if the two notes were perfectly aligned in height, how would we know which to read first? Right to left would work more often than not, but then there are left to right comics such as post #1901131.

There's also things like post #1558652 - each panel is read right to left then top to bottom, but the order of the panels themselves goes top to bottom then right to left.

Overall I'd be surprised if you could come up with an algorithm that works correctly on even 20% of the comic pages on the site, let alone 100%.

What if we started implementing note order? It could become part of the process. I'd also have no problem adding the order to older comics as I read them.

There are over a million existing notes. Isn't that a bit too much work to go back through and set the order for them all for such a minor feature?

Besides, how would the UI for setting note order work? Just paying attention to the order the translator created the notes in would be simple, but it wouldn't cover cases where they are translated out of order. Anything more complicated than that would make things more difficult on translators - and one of the main benefits of Danbooru's note system is how it makes things easy on translators, so I disagree with doing this.

Are you still having this problem now?

The site was just updated with what I believe might fix the cause of your problem (the "Share" buttons loading). That might not be the cause though, I could be totally wrong.

Well, just using a directional key system would help too, as long as the first note at the top right was the first activated, the user could move to the note to the left, bottom, right, or whatever. That might be easier to implement. Also, I don't think (if done correctly) a number system would be any more of a burden… especially if the readers do their part and do it as well. As long as all new translations have the system, it doesn't matter that the older ones may not. I would be more than willing to do it when reading older posts. If anything, thinking of a way to do it might make translating or adding notes easier. Maybe a system where all the note boxes can be opened at once on the right of the screen instead of editing them one at a time. I don't know… I don't program, but I've done UI design. Seems like that would be a better way to do it and help the translators as well.

If implemented correctly it should't be too hard on the translator. Not trying to say that the whole system has to be overhauled to add the feature either. It's only a suggestion. If nobody else wants it or to do it that's fine.

However, as I stated before I still would like a shortcut key for voting. And if the up vote key could be the same as the pixiv 10 star key (L) that would make me very happy.

Seems to be a lot less stuttery now! Thanks a lot for that.

Disabling my greasemonkey scripts almost completely eliminated it. There's a similar stuttre, but very mild, when they are active.

In other news, there seems to be a huge empty area now on the first page of search results. Makes unlimited paginator works a litte wonky. I did just update it from a much older version, so I'm not sure if that was introduced in this version I just updated to, or another recent update.

Danbooru hasn't had css changes in a while so it seems like a change to that script. All the paginators would need to have some clear:none; css to play nice with the side bar but the script only adds it to the topmost paginator.

I'm not having any problems with UPW, though, so maybe there's a conflict between scripts, like this user was having.

It still occurs with all userscripts, addons, and custom css disabled besides Unlimited Paginator Works. Both Firefox and Chrome. Tested with search limit:1.

Perhaps your own custom css is fixing the issue for you alone?

Oh, now I understand. My default limit is 54, so the thumbnail area was never shorter than the sidebar for me. Yeah, the other paginators just need clear:none. Thanks.

I see; the cause is because the thumbnails don't extend beyond the sidebar. Interesting...I don't think the previous version of UPW took that into account. Regardless, I've just added another row of thumbnails to fill the space since I'm not familiar enough with the CSS to fix it otherwise.

edit: This seems to have been fixed in the most recent update to UPW. Thanks to the user that pm'd me that.
