f-86 sabre
Introduced in 1949, the North American F-86 "Sabre" is a jet-powered day fighter known for its role in the Korean War, battling the MiG-15 for air superiority in Mig Alley [1], and its subsequent participation in the 1958 Taiwan Straits crisis and 1965 Indo-Pakistani War. The Sabre was one of the first post-war military jets to have swept wings. Powered by a single non-afterburning engine, it was armed with 6 .50-caliber machine guns (three on each side of the nose) and could also carry rockets and bombs, including nuclear weapons.
