Tomino Yoshiyuki (富野 由悠季, born 富野 喜幸 November 5, 1941) is a notable Japanese mecha anime story creator and writer, responsible for perhaps making the first real robot anime. He created and first introduced the now popular term mobile suit for that series.
Tomino is also infamous for having some series end with numerous characters dying, earning him the nickname "Kill'em All Tomino" (皆殺しの富野 Minagoroshi no Tomino).
He has created or co-created such notable works as the U.C. (Universal Century) Gundam series that started with Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam, Gundam ZZ, Victory Gundam, Turn A Gundam, Seisenshi Dunbine, Densetsu Kyojin Ideon, Sentou Mecha Xabungle, Ginga Hyouryuu Vifam, Juusenki L-Gaim, Brain Powered and Overman King Gainer among others. His latest work is Gundam G No Reconguista.
Tomino also writes some of the music for his series under the pseudonym Iogi Rin, such as King Gainer's catchy opening.
