There are a variety of pastries that consists of a ball coated in sesame. Some dishes include are:
Jiandui
A fried Chinese pastry made from glutinous rice flour. Called "Goma dango" in Japanese; 'butsui' in the Philippines; 'gato zinzli' in Creole.
The hollow of the pastry is filled with a filling usually consisting of lotus paste, or alternatively, sweet black bean paste, or red bean paste.
Bánh rán
Vietnamese dish. Deep-fried dough, sometimes coated in sesame.
