An experimental (and very advanced looking) Polish light battle tank.
The first prototype of the PL-01 Stealth Tank was created by the Polish Military University of Technology and Military Academy of Land Forces (OBRUM) with support from British defense contractor BAE Systems. The concept vehicle project was first unveiled at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce on September 2, 2013. A full prototype is estimated to be completed in 2016, and should the project be finalized and approved following evaluation, mass production is scheduled to begin in 2018.
The tank is operated by a crew of 3: the driver, the commander and the gunner. Despite its small size it will be armed with a 105 mm or even a 120 mm caliber main cannon and a 7.62 mm machine gun as secondary armament in an automated unmanned turret.
The PL-01 was designed with sophisticated stealth materials and systems designed to conceal its signature from modern tank detection equipment. The entire vehicle will be also covered with radio wave absorbent material.
