The VP70 is very first polymer-framed semi-automatic handgun, manufactured by Heckler & Koch from 1970 to 1989. There are three main models, one of which is the VP70M (for military purpose) that can fire 3-round bursts when fitted with a shoulder stock. The VP70 has low-profile sights, a thin, sharply curved M1911-like trigger, contoured underside and trigger guard, small ejection port on the upper right of the slide, and a concealed hammer. It uses 9×19mm or 9×21mm IMI ammunition.
