Chiyoda is the second Chitose-class seaplane tender/light aircraft carrier in Kantai Collection.

Appearance
Chiyoda has medium brown hair and brown eyes. She wears a white blouse, red hakama skirt and blue jacket with a gold phoenix pattern. She also wears black thighhighs and a headband.
The Chitose-class ships are unique as they can remodel five times and have a total of five unique forms.
- 1st form (base form): She dual wields seaplane catapult launchers.
- 2nd form (Kai): She now has a second pair of seaplane catapult launchers on her shoulders.
- 3rd form (A): She now has a pair of launchers for Type A Kou-hyouteki midget submarines attached to her legs.
- 4th form (Carrier, CVL Kai): She changes from a seaplane tender to an light aircraft carrier, replacing her catapult launchers and midget submarines with a flight deck theatre. On the deck is the first two kana of her name (ちよ). She controls her planes with two marionette control bars.
- 5th form (Final form) (Kai Ni): Chiyoda's hakama and jacket now features green and black camouflage splotches and Her rigging gains a green hue and her headband changes from white to black. Her flight deck theatre becomes more sophisticated, it turns into the ship's actual shape and features a camouflage paint job and a lantern on the top. She now smiles.
She, along with Chitose, has had several seasonal CGs. In Autumn 2015 she loosely wears a red yukata with a floral print over her normal clothes, white tabi and sandals. She is eating a sweet potato with a bucket of water next to her. During Rainy Season 2016 she wears a particular kind of raincoat and holds a red oil-paper umbrella.
Personality
Chiyoda is depicted as being a siscon towards her elder sister, Chitose, she's quite passionate about it and sometimes depicted as being a bit obsessed with her. She's known to be fond of roasted sweet potatoes. She seems to have a one sided friendly rivalry with the admiral for her elder sisters affections though she secretly harbours warm feelings toward the admiral herself.
History
Chiyoda originally built as the second vessel of the Chitose Class seaplane tenders launched on the 19th November 1937. She along with her sister were both converted and reclassified as Light Aircraft Carriers on the 15 December 1943. As a carrier she participated in the Battle of the Philippines Sea and the Battle of Leyte Gulf.
She would finally meet her end during the battle of Cape Engano on the 25th October 1944 where she along with Zuikaku, Zuihou and Chitose were used as a sacrificial decoy force to lure the American fleet away from the landing beaches in the Philippines. She was crippled the 4 bombs dropped by US carrier aircraft and was ultimately finished off by surface gunfire from a surface task force consisting of 4 cruisers and 9 destroyers. Chiyoda sank with her entire crew of 1,470 officers and men, there were no survivors.
Trivia
- Her name (千代田) translates to "Field Cultivated Over a Thousand Generations"; it is a phrase meaning "Lasting Prosperity".
- She is voiced by Miyagawa Wakana, who also provided the voices for Chitose, Asashio, Mischishio, Kasumi, Ooshio, Arashio, Arare and Tashkent.
- Chiyoda was the largest vessel of any nationality which is definitely known to have been sunk with all hands during World War II. She was also one of the few carriers sunk by surface forces in naval warfare's history.
