9A-91 is a Russian compact assault rifle that fires subsonic 9×39mm cartridge. It was introduced in 1993 as a cheaper versatile alternative to SR-3 Vikhr. The weapon features a stamped steel receiver, polymer furniture, top-folding stock, a sight mounting rail for optics on the receiver's left side, and a quick detach suppressor. Due to its cartridge's lower muzzle velocity, the effective firing range is lower than most assault rifles, 200 m.
