Kantai Collection's personification of the Japanese escort ship Sado. Character design by Akasaka Yuzu, voiced by Imamura Ayaka (initial) and Seto Asami (after Imamura's retirement).

Sado has long hair that transitions from blue to blonde midway. She has red tsurime eyes. She wears a serafuku similar to Etorofu's: an elementary school serafuku with prominent buttons, with a hat bearing a blue ribbon, light blue neckerchief, white gloves, and blue pleated skirt. She differs from Etorofu by wearing a sleeveless shirt with a black undershirt underneath and black pantyhose. Her damaged CG shows that her undershirt only goes halfway down her chest.

Her rigging is similar to her sisters: a pistol-like single-cannon turret held in her right hand, mast and smokestack carried like a backpack, while depth charge launchers are held like a purse from another strap. An anti-air gun is strapped to her right thigh, and more depth charges are strapped to her left.

History

The historical IJN Sado was launched in late November 1942 and had an unremarkable service history escorting ships. She was torpedoed and sunk on August 22, 1944, the same day Matsuwa was lost, after a series of submarine attacks by USS Rasher and USS Spadefish on her convoy.
