Libeccio (Named after the southwesterly winds of the Mediterranean) is the third Maestrale-class destroyer, in Kantai Collection as well as the first Italian destroyer to be represented in the game. Character design by Jiji, voiced by Kitou Akari.
Appearance
She wears a white one-piece sleeveless sailor dress with red and green stripes along the hem and a green stripe on the collar. She also wears a red and white striped neckerchief along with a small hat based on her superstructure and sandals with the same pattern as her uniform. On her back is her gear, with triple torpedo launchers and twin 120mm guns. On her thighs are a pair of paravanes.
For Halloween 2015 she wears a costume based on a jack o' lantern consisting of an orange bubble skirt with classic jack o' lantern face, a black camisole and a pumpkin stem hat. She also carries a halloween bucket full of candy. Her usual rangefinder hat is disguised as a sheet ghost and floats independently from her (how it floats is "Sagrato!" [secret] according to her in the 4koma). Interestingly, she has one of Northern Ocean Princess's planes dressed up as a pumpkin with her. One of her guns is also placed inside a jack o' lantern.
For Mid-Summer 2016, she wears a frilled bikini in her usual colors along with garters acting as holsters for her twin 120mm guns and different, polka-dotted hair ribbons. She carries an innertube with her, and her usual hat is floating on a miniature lifeboat with a serving of shaved ice over it.
For Christmas 2017, she wears a loose yet short santa dress with long sleeves and laced-up slits to the hips. She wears santa boots, a santa hat and festive hair ribbons. She carries a plate with a panettone cake (bereft of a slice) on it. Her usual hat is floating beside her, "wearing" a christmas stocking. This outfit was first used the preceding year (2016) for a Buon Natalefrom the staff.
In real life, she was the third of the class, grouped with them as the 10th Destroyer Division and saw service in the battles of Calabria and Taranto. In November 1941, she was assigned to cover a convoy bound for Libya alongside her sisters Maestrale and Grecale when their group was attacked by the Royal Navy light cruisers Aurora and Penelope. She escaped damage and attempted to pick up survivors of the destroyed convoy but was torpedoed on her stern by a Royal Navy submarine, later sinking under tow. This explains her moderate damage voice lines and repair lines where she doesn't like being hit in the same area.
