Appearance

Visually, she has long silver hair with a cowlick sticking up as well as silver-colored eyes and headgear jutting out from the sides of her head. She wears a mostly military-style uniform consisting of a white sleeveless shirt with a blue necktie under a black jacket worn hanging off her upper arms that exposes her bare shoulders, a white pleated skirt, black pantyhose, and rudder footwear with shin guards. Her machinery includes her famed nine 16-inch (406 mm)/45-caliber Mark 6 guns.

Personality and history

She is usually depicted with South Dakota, oftentimes at odds with each other, a reflection of the rivalry the crews of the two historical battleships had. The rivalry stems from ill feelings by South Dakota's crew who mistakenly thought they were bait for Washington's attack in the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal where she severely damaged and sank Kirishima and Ayanami.
