Attack helicopter built by Mil Moscow Helicoptor Plant also known by the NATO reporting name Hind. Carries a crew of two or three, plus up to eight troops in a small cabin. Early versions had a boxy, flat-paned nose section; later ones have two bubble canopies. The Mi-24 has a five-bladed main rotor and a tail rotor mounted high on the vertical fin. Stub wings with considerable anhedral let it carry various munitions such as rockets, podded cannon, antitank missiles, and bombs.
