A modern helmet worn by pilots or military aircrew. It largely replaced the leather aviator caps used by early pilots. Flight helmets provide impact protection. They often feature a visor, headset or microphone for both communication and noise attenuation, mounting system for night vision device and head-mounted display, as well as compatibility with oxygen masks.
