Artist's commentary
Has anyone else played omori? Please say yes, I need someone to talk to about it, I’ve been obsessed with it since I played it and I’m so excited I finally got to make a drawing of Aubrey. The artist behind this game @omocat was a big influence on my art before I was ever even on the internet so naturally 6 years ago she announced she was making a game in her art style and I was so excited. I always knew I’d like the game but honestly I wasn’t expecting to love it so much. It’s been a long time since I fell so deeply in love with a game; aside from the absolute glory of the hand drawn art and animations (you can feel the 6 years of love that went into this project) it’s just such a charming play through, the music is absolutely beautiful, the combat system is fun, the clever use of horror elements are brilliantly executed to help you feel what the characters are feeling, the story was something completely unique unlike any game I’ve played before. I wouldn’t say this game is for everyone just because it is very dark in places and there’s triggers for suicide/depression but if you can handle that stuff 100% please play this dazzling masterpiece so I feel less alone in the world. It’s 10/10 I was psychologically damaged by the end of it.
