Para-Medic: I see you've found some fly agaric mushrooms.
You'll find it growing on the ground, but it's poisonous, so don't eat it.
It says here that when you eat it, the initial symptoms include nausea, stomach pain and diarrhea. Finally, your liver and kidneys will break down into a sponge-like substance and you'll die.
Tact: Sounds like a horrible way to die.
Para: Isn't it?
Tact: Yeah. So how does it taste?
Para: ...Huh?
(Fly agarics/Amanita muscaria aren't that toxic, though it's not uncommon for them to be erroneously described as such in field guides published in the time period of MGS3. Still not a good idea to eat them in the field though, unless you're from a culture that knows how to prepare them properly.)
