A Pokémon said to have hatched from an egg that appeared from nothing. Newly hatched, it created the world and the sky.

As I hinted previously in my comment for Creation Trio I did work on Arceus as well. I actually considered doing Arceus in this style inspired by Japanese art years ago but never really got into it. Perhaps it was just waiting for a better time. And now the time was perfect, to me at least. I think the Creation Trio prepared me for this. It's a perfect follow-up in the series and I feel like the style is really getting into a good shape.
Needless to say, this piece is vastly inspired by how mythological creatures are portrayed in Japanese art but also by the idea of strangeness and incomprehension. There are some illustrations of angels as they are described in the Bible (NOTE This is as far as the Bible stuff goes. My Arceus design has nothing to do with any Bible or Christianity stuff.) and those designs perfectly fit a being that is somehow out of this world. Strange, incomprehensible, even startling. I looked for this kind of elements in my references an little by little put together this design. I am really pleased with it myself. I added some things to make sure I would do justice to the strangeness of this creator Pokemon. I don't think anything less would've been enough. Perhaps it could've used more of something. But personally I think it definitely needed an approach that embraces the strangeness to go right.
