「ママ、ロボットが迷子を拾って困ってるよ」　「まあ、あの子はこの間助けてくれた娘さんの…」　『奥さん、何処のボウズか知ってるのかい？』　「兵隊さーん、その子うちの弟でーす」　■星間大戦終結後の混乱期において、既存の司法機関に代わり世界の治安を担ったのが統合軍憲兵隊である。戦災により自治警察が消滅した地球上で、新たに同胞となった巨人族ゼントラーディ人を含む全ての犯罪者に対し法による強制力を行使できるのは、この時点で軍の法務機構以外あり得なかった。統合軍は全軍に分散する警務隊や警備隊の指揮系統を一元化し、強力な執行力と即応性を備えた“統合憲兵隊”を新設し戦後世界における新たな法秩序の端を築いたのである。

In the period of chaos after the end of the Interstellar War, the Joint Military Gendarmerie was responsible for world security in place of the existing judiciary. On Earth, where the local police have disappeared due to the damage from the war, it is impossible for anyone other than the military's legal system to be able to enforce the law against all criminals, especially the newly integrated giant Zentraedi.

The Joint Forces unified the chain of command of the police force and guard force, which were dispersed throughout the entire army, and established the "Joint Gendarmerie" with strong executive power and responsiveness, creating a new legal order in the postwar world.
