You guys I WRESTLED with this painting this morning. I think I went through five different color schemes by the time I got to this one, it started blue!
I think it’s because of the scale I chose, the lighting became hard to figure out with what I was trying to do. Generally if I have a difficult time with color I can rely on a “fiery” color palette, which ended up looking a little much, so I added some blue in the shadows and that seemed to round it out. I would like to revisit this one for a detail pass, definitely would like to touch it up.
