7/3 is Soft-Serve Ice Cream Day!
The day in 1951 when Japanese people first tasted ice cream!
American soldiers stationed in Japan following WWII held a carnival at Meiji Jingu Gaien to celebrate July 4th, the Independence Day of the United States. It was there that Japanese citizens were able to try out soft-serve ice cream at stalls for the very first time. Because of its popularity, it was officially sold in stores later that year in September. It's so hot... Any kind of ice cream is fine with me...
