Representatives of the web platform Manga Okoku revealed the creation of the "Eiken AI Remake" is an initiative to reintroduce classic manga to modern times.

According to them in a newly published interview, fans request to read works in color on their phones. Older works that were meant to be read on paper make it difficult. However, AI gives them an opportunity to correct these concerns.

Seiji Matsuyama, the original mangaka gave his blessing to the project. He says the original is too old and hard to read digitally. The original Eiken made its debut in Weekly Shonen Champion in 2001.
