I've always wanted to try a wave picture ever since I saw the amazing piece by *shilin [ link ] when I was in high school, so I'm sure I was influenced by her painting, as it is very inspiring to me. ^^ I also follow a some blogs on tumblr that post cool wave pictures, so I was influenced by those, too. Though my results are lackluster! I will need to try again in the future. ;) (Wink)
