Crazy Cartoon Crossover: Robots (digital redraw)
It is finally finished. After 35 days I can finally reveal to you all my most challenging crossover drawing ever. There have been so many lines I had to put in, so many plates of metal, so many rivets, nuts and bolts, so many tubes, so many pipes, so many blades, so many visors and so many components that had to be drawn. It was such a relief to get on to the colouring and shading stage that it only took less than a week to finish after drawing all the line work, which took at least 3 weeks to do. The biggest challenge was trying to keep the character sizes consistent.
It took a lot of trial and error to see how characters of different sizes compared to each other. Some are so small that they look borderline fuzzy due to the thin lines I drew them in. I could not make the lines too thin though otherwise they would look low quality on my deviant art page, and I could not make the canvas too big otherwise it would lag and make it really hard to draw. There have been a lot of changes since I last did this crossover in traditional pen and paper, such as doubling the number of characters and adding in a background.
There are 70 robots in this picture but there are so many I have missed out. I barely have enough space and I already have spent way too much time on it, and I don't want it to look too cluttered and busy. Maybe some day I will throw in a few more but for now, I can finally go on to do something else. I will make plans for a new Crazy Cartoon Crossover in a couple of weeks, but before then, it is back to single character fanart.
So how many can you identify. By the way I put in a bit of MST3K style riffing on the bottom right. Fans of this 90s series will understand.
