SLIP OUT +BECK MCS+
The colored version of BECK Mongolian Chop Squad This has sorta been sitting around done since about mid January hehe ^_^;;
This was colored in Adobe Photoshop CS while very very loosely using advice from one my Photoshop magazine DVD/ CD-ROM things (I love 'em).
I'm not entirly sure what all I did to get the image to where it looks... some aspects of the color I'm not too happy with.
I dunno if I would ever try to fix it, however... if so I may just recolor the whole thing.... Oi
I used a yellow flat color skin base behind anyone who is Japanese and a flat blue skin base color behind the Americans... this was to visually stand out the colors a bit more while working in a coloring style I was unfamiliar with.
Originally I was gonna add in additional characters, mostly the many rivals and "villians" including the second patchwork dog, Keith.
This was a print for sale at Saboten-Con and, once I open my print shop here, will be available for online purchase!
Some tidbits and rock info about the band/ series
Harold Sakushi, the author of the original manga, has confirmed in an interview with Tokyopop, that Chiba's attitude, style, and appearance was based on Zack De La Rocha from Rage Against The Machine, and the way Koyuki holds his guitar is based on Tom Morello of the same band. Ryûsuke is based on Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, though also resembles Tom Morello in some of his playing - though, at times, he can be cocky (as seen when he tries to name the band after himself), like Yngwie Malmsteen or Noel Gallagher.
