This is the day an electrical light was first lit in Japan!
On March 25th 1878, the first electrical light, specifically an arc lamp, was lit to commemorate the opening of the Central Telegraph Office in Toranomon, Tokyo. As such the day of March 25th was chosen to commemorate this event, and to honor all new technology and its pioneers, and was established as such in 1955 by the Japan Electric Association.March 25th is Electricity Memorial Day!
