Suikyou Bunko: "On a Dream"
A pink cat laughs.
On top of a blue postbox,
a pink cat laughs,
and sends eighth notes lilting up to the sky.
All of a sudden I notice the right hand is missing.
This is a problem.
With the right hand gone, the left hand will get lonely.
Where on earth did I lose it?
Was it yesterday when they were bunched together?
Or, was it when they were apart?
Where is that right hand? - I ask the ankle,
but he doesn't say a thing.
Of course, he was already asleep anyway before this happened
so his deafening silence is to be expected.
So, I'm going on a journey.
I'll fill my bag full with my dream,
and go on a journey to find the right hand.
In my wheeled suitcase,
with the sticker of the pink cat laughing on top of the blue postbox and sending eighth notes up to the sky,
I pack the other "remains",
and start my journey to find his...my former boyfriend's right hand.
...Oh, but just where did I lose it?
Maybe when I killed him in the bedroom?
Or maybe when I cut him up in the bathroom?
...At any rate I had better go back to his apartment,
and find the right hand I forgot to pack.
Something like that, if someone were to find it, I'd be caught for sure.
I need to try harder, I can't be so careless.
Because I'm so close to the dream of the perfect crime.
