Hey DA Fam & ROBOTECH Fans,  

  With the successful release of the Kickstarted miniature war-game ROBOTECH RPG TACTICS (RRT) published by Palladiumbooks and co-developed by Ninja Division, and owned by Harmony Gold. I was one of the Artists that enjoyed working on some of the rule book interior art. The vast majority of the art was done through the stellar production team assembled by Ninja Division, but I was also part of the Art team and was able to contribute to the RRT rulebook which has a loose painted less detailed style/aesthetic.  It was different from what I am accustomed to, but I enjoyed it and adapted my style none-the-less for pleasing consistency.

I grew enjoying every minute of the Robotech animation, soaking it up before I left to go to school and raced home to watch it when I go home from school in the early afternoon.  

This illustration is for the demonstration art of hand o hand attacks in the RRT rule book digitally pained in the rule book’s painted style. Featured is the melee combat between the Earth Defense Force’s MBR-07 Gladiator Destroid and a Zentraedi Battlepod.

The Gladiator is a non-transformable mecha as a defense weapon system in deep space, aboard he SDF-1, and the Earth Defense Force. Unlike its fellow Destroids, which are basically heavy artillery support units, the Gladiator is a frontline combat unit designed with an excellent balance of mobility, weaponry and hand to hand combat capabilities. Of all the Destroids, the Gladiator is the most versatile in overall mobility, ability and means of attack. It is the only Destroid that can engage in full hand to hand combat. So powerful are its slashing hands that they have been known to punch through the armor of Zentraedi assault pods(hence the illustration I chose to depict hand to hand combat for RRT).
