I had an idea in my mind about the designation of the ship while drawing this, but I don't imagine it matters for the contest entry. I thought of a stored ship which pilots can access via the Customs House that is assigned locally, a ship that cannot attack other ships or leave the system but has great drone/fighter controls including capturing drones from other ships re-tasking them. Coming from Concord the ship wouldn't need any racial variety. I figured that with planetary action being a new thing in EVE, maybe they could install some orbital action like drone swarms troubling the custom house and granting the player tax breaks for periodically easing the flow of commerce in the area. They'd assign one ship per pilot per system, to be kitted up for a short burst bit of game play and then returned all being well ... because those custom houses otherwise just float there kind of blandly.

As noted, I'm just saying that to explain what I was thinking about when drawing. I did a 3D model during the first pass, but then changed the lower half in the line art. I may link that up on my art blog later.

The other idea that entertained me during the drawing was to call the ship 'Irem', since it is a patrol vessel. I would be really surprised if anyone can spot the reasoning there, but have a go. Hopefully nobody will fuss about submitting the image twice; if you must, one can be thought of as Irem Dark and the other as Irem White. ;) (Wink)
