I thought it would be fun to draw Victorious and Prinz Eugen as Eagle Union ships.

Inspired by the brief period in history when KMS Prinz Eugen and HMS Victorious served in the US Navy.

The loss of the USS Hornet and the heavy damage received by the USS Enterprise left the USS Saratoga as the only operational fleet carrier in the Pacific. In response to carrier shortages, the HMS Victorious was loaned to the US navy and served as USS Robin from January to September 1943.

KMS Prinz Eugen was awarded to the US as a war prize on December 13, 1945. She was given a new hull number (IX-300) and commissioned as the unclassified miscellaneous vessel USS Prinz Eugen by the US navy in January 1946. She served as a USN ship for only a short period of time, before being sunk in nuclear weapons tests during Operation Crossroads in July 1946.
