Larger than conventional ships of the same class it is able to use better sensor and aiming systems enabling it to hit a target at incredible distances and tear through its armor gradually. It is also able to warp away relatively quickly compared to bigger ships with the same kind of firepower however suffers from average armor plating.
Its not quite as big and resistant as a battleship, but gives you a much better bang for your buck.
