Artist's commentary
The Defense of the Brave
The fellowship had fallen; the strength of the enemy was nearing its peak. Shifting spires pierced the land as the towering mass chased the pair to Earth's end, trailing death in its wake.

The Bearer finally collapsed under the will of the ring, for it knew its master was near. The Brave pleaded with him to rise, but to no avail. He braced himself into the blackened earth below, and stood to meet the enemy's piercing gaze.

"Don't you worry," the Brave spoke, "I made a promise."

Then he brandished his sword for one last stand.
