ice

On a frozen lake, I found myself molding sculptures out of its formless ice.
Beautiful and corporeal as they were, I could only watch my creations crumble and melt away when I tried to hold them close.
Why do we strive to create something from nothing, to seek sense in nonsense?
At times, I felt tempted to sink and let the frigid depths of the lake consume me.
Yet all I managed was to lie down on the icy surface from where my sculptures were born.
For a brief moment, they were tangible and real.
I just wished I could embrace them one more time before it was all gone.
