Even though he knew that he couldn't stop this attack, Axel still braced himself and thus tries to destroy the blast with his Chain
While the chains starting to break aparts in his hands, he recalled all sort of sweet memories of him and the rest of the guild members
At this point, Axel knew instinctively... that he couldn't survive this, but knowing that he would be able to save Leader from certain death made him feel that his SACRIFICE was worth it
This is HIS choice to protect the guild, even if the price to pay was his own life.
With his front facing the blast, Axel tried- NO He used every single fiber of his being to block the attack
He felt his muscles ache and screaming, while the sound of explosions echoed, it for some reason didn't scare him as much as expected
And it finally ended, he was just glad the whole damn thing had ended without much fuss
With his legs finally gave up, Axel now with a large hole through his chest finally dropped to his knees and to the chest of Leader
