First in my upcoming series of Sin City paintings.

This is Detective John Hartigan, He is one of the main characters from the "Yellow Bastard" Sin City graphic novels.

I always liked his character a lot, he's just a badass. He'll take a bullet or 20 and just brush it off and keep on coming.

In the films the character is portrayed by the ever popular and continually more balding Bruce Willis. I thought he was a great choice for the role he managed to really capture that character well.

However in this illustration, I was trying to achieve a happy medium in terms of how the character looks. I was trying to get it to look like it was a mix between the original graphic novel version and the Bruce Willis version.

It was fun doing this one because I don't do enough in solid black and white, which made working on this a refreshing experience and I can't wait to get into the next batch of characters.

this was painted in about 6 hours.

Did this in between lots of other freelance work, in the free time that I had.

I livestreamed all of it, however a large chuck was lost sadly because my connection dropped midway through recording and it just lost what was recording which was like an 2.5 hr segment (Damn you network connection error!!!!!)
