Artist's commentary
Fetal Dreams. It's handdrawn, pictures 2-4 are small details. This time, some symbolic elements were included in the background. Fetal dream is a thesis that appears in the novel "Brain Marrow Inferno", which was written and released by Japanese speculative fiction writer Yumeno Hisasaku in 1953. It roughly states that a fetus will see the process of biological evolution in a dream, for example, dreaming that it becomes a fish swimming in the sea, and it also mentions that the process of evolution will be engraved in the DNA. Dreams are the unconscious venting of the suppressed consciousness. So when it comes to the unconsciously acting Koishi, her usual actions are the equivalent of being in an unconscious state as if she were dreaming, splendid and exuberant. The background shows the evolutionary process of living things, microorganisms, schools of fish swimming in the water, ferns and birds, and so on. The eyes are drawn as hearts in a reference to the drawing "The Two Fridas". In the original image the Frida on the left has her heart cut in half, while the heart of the right Frida is complete. I tried to replace the love that Frida Kahlo wanted to express with something else.
