Artist's commentary
Hello, it’s been a while! I took some time off to visit my family and realized when I came back that I didn’t really have any personal illustrations ready to go. Instead of just producing something to post I’ve been focusing on making better pieces even if there’s fewer of them (or at least that’s the hope!). This little fox is just a paint test, though. This is completely unsponsored, but Blick sent me a piece of Winsor and Newton’s watercolor paper with my last paint order and it’s been sitting on my shelf for half a year; I decided to finally test is out recently and really liked it! It’s the first paper I’ve used that works almost exactly like my cold press Arches. This was a single sheet, but we’ll have to see how their blocks hold up to a thousand washes…
