Artist's commentary
Shink
There are times when I want to drown in my overflowing emotions.

From blog post:
Bath plug-chan. At first I just had an image of her sitting on the edge of the tub (because she'd drown if she fulfilled her job as a drain plug), but I thought the image of her performing her job as a plug would make for a more interesting visual image, and somehow I thought, "What if she isn't just submerged in water but I take it in a direction like she's drowning in emotions?" and it developed from there. Hence why the faucet is heart-shaped. I also had the idea of making the bathtub itself shaped like a heart, but that would make it seem kind of suspicious and I didn't want to move away from the setting of a bathtub at home, so I gave up on that. The fruit and rubber duckies I put in for some color because the image looked desolate otherwise, but they also started looking like they carry a subtle meaning. Kiwis sink, fun fact.
The title is meant to be either "Sink" or "Think". I also had the idea for making the bathtub all red for "shinku" (deep crimson), but there's that shadiness.
■ A first work to remember
This is the first time I've had an idea for a drawing while in the bath. Everyone says it's easy to come up with ideas while taking a bath, right? Now I'm one of them too. I also think I'll never get another one.
In a day or two, I'll publish an article that's a must-read for creators like me who can't get ideas while in the bath.
