8. Sink
The cost of warming is high, the most intuitive is the damage to infrastructure and the rise of sea levels. Thermal expansion of seawater, melting of glaciers, and melting of frozen soil all cause sea level rise.
When the frozen soil retreats, the ice frozen in the soil becomes liquid water. Part of the water flows to the river and the sea. The water remaining on the land forms hot-melt depressions and hot-melt lakes, and causes more engineering geological problems in frozen soil areas, which is not conducive to the construction of large roads and projects. At the same time, the greenhouse gases released with melting will intensify the process of warming.
Existing roads are being severely collapsed year by year, and the collapsed asphalt roads will even hinder people's progress. The recurring frost heave, thawing sinking and thermal thawing slumping of the roadbed are the main problems faced by road construction and maintenance in frozen soil areas. If a section of the road is slippery, it is meaningless to simply re-pave the road. As the ground continues to deform, the damage may reappear in a year.
